Connect Project

Based in Swansea, this membership project offers a weekly programme of events and activities for people with continuing mental health problems.  It is valued enormously by its members, who enjoy being part of a safe and welcoming community, where they can socialise and learn new skills at their own pace.

Connect offers members a wide programme of events and activities.  Workshops include a range of arts and crafts, basic skills and IT training. There are healthy living activities such as cooking, cycling, aromatherapy and football.  Members can also hone their growing and gardening skills at Connect’s allotment.

In addition to a skilled staff team, Connect has a member’s Helpers Group and a member’s Action Group.  These offer members the opportunity to share their skills with each other and to be directly involved in decisions about the project’s activities.

Basic Skills

Our Basic Skills project provides training in basic skills such as IT, literacy and numeracy to clients based in Swansea.  This is available for those who need to build confidence and learn at their own pace in a safe and supportive environment.

Community Links

This service is aimed at creating further opportunities for personal development.  Working with communities of interest, rather than being confined to geographical boundaries, the service formulates and delivers innovative ways to bring people together and provide relevant opportunities for growth.  Successful projects delivered to date include teaching essential Basic Skills to a group of Bangladeshi women and our urban wildlife garden.
